Starting with Release 6.0, the EMME/2 system includes the new
directory EMME2\MACROS
, which contains macros that form an
integral part of the EMME/2 software release.
The first of these macros is MODIFYDB, a macro which allows increasing of certain data bank dimensions for existing EMME/2 data banks. This macro has been extensively tested with Release 5, and several users may already have obtained a beta test version of it (see also ``In the Works'' in the December 1991 issue of EMME/2 NEWS).
With the new release, MODIFYDB has become a standard part of the EMME/2 system. Invoking it without parameters will display a short summary of its use. In its current version, the following operations can be performed on an existing data bank:
Due to the nature of these modifications, it is of the utmost importance not to interrupt the macro, once started. If the macro is interrupted or the system is rebooted or shut down during its operation, the data bank is most likely left in an unusable state. Thus, always do a complete backup of your data bank before running MODIFYDB! Note that some operations of MODIFYDB might take quite a while to finish (depending on the data bank size and the speed of your system, of course), so please be patient and don't interrupt the macro.
