As of January 1992 EMME/2 licences will be offered in sizes 9 and 10 in all the computer classes. The speed of the new computing platforms make it feasible now to consider applications of up to 2000 zones, 40000 links and 2000 transit lines. Even though these dimensions seem large, some transportation agencies in the U.S.A. have applications of even larger size.
EMME/2 has been ported now to run on the IBM RS 6000 workstations and servers, on the HP 9000-720 workstation and on Intel 386/486 PC's under SCO UNIX. A new price list has been sent out to agents and distributors to indicate the corresponding classes for these computing platforms as well as for some new computers from DEC operating under VMS.
The SCO UNIX EMME/2 licences on Intel 386/486, which we expect to be attractive for many users who already own such equipment, is in class C.
